THE STORY OF ATHY DEBUT DRESS

After two months working on them, finally I can finish this costume set. The costume include dress, choker, arm and leg cover, forehead chain, crown, rose hair clip and one pair of clip earring. To be honest, I'm too hesitant to begin the project because there was a potential customer to working with. I was making the dress in the mid of December after the client who asked me to do a custom order didn't contact me further for the work related. So, I think this customer didn't serious about continuing this project. Thus after that, I make my mind to begin my personal project (Athy debut dress).

Long story short, sometimes I got distracted to do my cosplay project because I'm not particularly closed my custom commissions. Moreover I've an e-commerce shop which we don't know when the buyers purchase our product as well.

IT'S ME VS ME

The most difficult part is when you're doubting yourself to begin this personal project. I think the biggest enemy is my own self. I do think that I'm too greedy about begin a cosplay project, it's due to complicated design and I calculated the budget and the result is this project will cost a lot of money. I'm tend to write down my expense and making a new costume cosplay is not my main goal in life right now because we live in the real world and we need to be realistic with our daily and other needs.

I don't want to be the pessimistic person, so lets continue about the behind process of costume making here. Actually, I bought the main fabric in January of 2021 (I've been thinking to create Athy's costume since long time ago) and manage to complete them in January 2022.

MATERIAL FOR THE DRESS

I bought everything by myself and most of them were bought online (laces, pearl imitation, other extra fabrics, artificial flower and crown). I tried to imitate the shape of Athy dress and thank to my fellow followers on SNS because I manage to find  the answer of my indecision (I have many choices of the skirt cutting also the lace detail as well).

For the fabric, I use three different kind of fabrics which is bridal sateen for the main part and tulle glitter for the upper skirt and doff tulle for the lowest part of the skirt. I had many options for the lace part, I use five different laces, two kind of laces for the white skirt of its dress and the other three were used for the upper part (bustier, belt, ribbon belt, choker, arm and leg cover). For beads, I use imitation pearls with sizes 4 and 6 mm. The most fun thing is choosing artificial roses, I use three different size of roses and mostly they're used in the top of bustier.

To be honest, when I constructed this costume I was think to minimize the used of products, in addition if someone will gonna custom this dress for their self, I don't need to put too much effort on them. Unfortunately, that things is just my imagination. Look! here is me who tried her best to create such attire for her expensive hobby (cosplay).

PHOTO PRODUCT : DSLR CAMERA VS MOBILE PHONE

The first reason why I still take a photo by phone is because I didn't deepen my photography skills with DSLR camera. I'm comfortable taking photos with my phone but there are many shortcomings on some occasions. For example, the photos taken with my phone usually can't capture the red color, so the result tends to be cold color scheme. I took this photo with the same light setting and an angle wasn't that much different but the photos have different colors and splendor in my point of view.
